It's been awhile.
But guess what, it's time to address Game of Thrones theories.
With the premier coming out on June 25, 2017 I am having Game of Thrones withdrawals and I need to discuss with you what I'm feeling.
This first post is going to be about Sansa Stark's theories.
Let's jump right into it.
SPOILERS!
1. Will Sansa Stark have to marry again?
Because Jon Snow is actually a Targaryen/Stark and is actually Sansa's cousin instead of her half-brother, there is a high chance she would have to marry him. Now, they could easily find that much too weird, but it is an option, nevertheless.
Her other options are either Robin Arryn, her cousin on her mother's side or Petyr Baelish (Littlefinger). (Also, Sansa is still technically married to Tyrion Lannister...so there's that to look forward to.)
This leads me to question who will rule Winterfell? Sansa is, by nature, the Princess of Winterfell, however Jon was just proclaimed as King in the North in the Season 6 finale. But we'll address that later.
Back to Petyr Baelish. Sansa and Baelish shared a knowing look at the end of Season 6 after Jon was hailed as King in the North. There's a chance we will see a change in Sansa, or as the fans have renamed her "Darth Sansa". Baelish may be forcing a wedge between Sansa and Jon. Especially after the Season 6 episode 10 quote from Jon as he says, "We need to trust each other." He was more than likely referencing Sansa trust him instead of the trust going both ways. But can we really blame him? He's had trust issues ever since he left Winterfell. However, there is a minute where we can see the recognition in Sansa's eyes when she realizes Jon doesn't mean putting trust in her too. Sansa feels undermined as she was the one who told Jon what kind of a person Ramsay Bolton was and that he would lay a trap for Jon. Sansa tried to tell Jon not to do what Ramsay wanted him to do, but of course, he doesn't listen to her and falls into the awaited trap.
Without Sansa's alliance with Petyr Baelish and the Knights of the Vale, there's no certainty that the Battle of the Bastards would've been won. Then poor Rickon Stark would've died for nothing. Way to go, Jon. I guess we'll have to see if these two will ever trust each other fully or if we're looking at a family war.
2. Sansa's Squad
Now, we know that Brienne of Tarth is sworn into Sansa's service, as shown in Season 6, but we also know that Sansa sent Brienne and Podrik Payne to Riverrun to attest to Brynden Tully for knights. We also know that Riverrun is overtaken by the Freys again. The point, however, is that Brienne and Pod have yet to reunite with Sansa after the fall of Riverrun.
As for her squad of people she can rely on, Sansa is older now, though still ignorant and arrogant. Is there a chance she will be reunited with her first husband, Tyrion Lannister? Would they even get along anymore or would Sansa finally be able to keep up with Tyrion. Time will tell.
That's all I have for now on Sansa's part in this story, but I may have more. I don't know how many posts of these I will be doing a day, but you can probably expect more.
Thanks guys!
Katie
