Welcome back to the blog with all the theories and all the things. Today I'm talking Daenerys Targaryen and her amazing-ness!
SPOILERS!
1. Women Empowerment
Daenerys Targaryen represents the women empowerment in Game of Thrones. I mean seriously, guys, let's talk about it! She starts the series as a slave, sold by her brother into an arranged marriage with Khal Drogo (and though the marriage works out, she's still sold!) in Season 1 to becoming the Queen of Meereen in Season 6. She's inspiring hope and equality for women in the show (and in real life). This leads us into the next point.
2. Alliances
Daenerys needs alliances when she comes to take back the Seven Kingdoms. She has the favor of Olenna Tyrell (Queen of Thrones) after Cersei Lannister literally destroyed the House Tyrell in the Explosion of the Sept, which means, Olenna is coming for you Cersei. Daenerys also has the favor of the rest of the Martell family. As Cersei was the reason that Oberyn Martell was killed, Ellaria Sand will be bringing her Sand Snakes into the mix. Ellaria, Obara, Nymeria and Tyene Sand are coming for you, Cersei. Also, we can still blame the Lannisters for the death of Elia Martell (Oberyn's sister, Rhaegar's wife). I'd like to think that Lyanna Mormont may have the opportunity to side with Daenerys as her cousin, Jorah Mormont, sides with our Queen (however, Ned Stark did exile him for slavery). We've already seen Yara and Theon Greyjoy agree to an alliance with Daenerys. And on top of everything else, Daenerys may even have the Starks as well. I'm not even factoring in that Jon is a Targaryen/Stark here. I'm saying that Sansa is still technically married to Tyrion, Olenna Tyrell likes Sansa (Sansa and Margaery were good friends) and Theon Greyjoy can stand for Sansa as well (as he saved her). I'm just saying, as far as women empowerment goes, Sansa has a good chance of supporting and aligning with Daenerys.
3. Marriage
For now, the last thing we're discussing is marriage opportunities (at least in this post). I'm not saying Daenerys has to take a husband, but it makes for a pretty good political move for the Iron Throne.
She left Daario Naharis back in Meereen as not to appear "taken". Daario was angry about this decision, but Daenerys admits she didn't feel anything when breaking it off. We haven't seen the last of Daario, but I doubt she'll actually marry him.
We also have Tyrion Lannister in the running for her. Again, I doubt this will actually pull through as he is the Hand of the Queen, her good friend and still married to Sansa Stark. But we'll see.
She could marry Jon Snow, her nephew. I believe he's either the same age of a little older than her and let's not bring up that Kit Harrington (Jon) and Emilia Clark (Daenerys) dated in real life too. However, there is the potential dispute of who is the real heir to the throne...
Moving right along, Daenerys could marry Jaime Lannister. Hear me out. When Cersei blew up the Sept and Jaime came home to it, he had the look of absolute shock. I'm thinking Jaime is realizing just how crazy Cersei really is. Plus, we've got Tyrion on her side now and we all know that Tyrion and Jaime are basically the best sibling duo ever. Tyrion brings out the good in Jaime. I suppose we shall see.
And of course there's my personal vote and favorite of Daenerys marrying Jorah Mormont (OTP). All he needs to do is cure himself and return to her. WHICH IS EVERYTHING I AM WISHING FOR.
Anyways, we'll touch back on Daenerys soon enough, but for now, I'll leave it here.
Love you so much, nerds!
