HEADS UP! If you hover over my blog tab, you'll see Game of Thrones Theories and Harry Potter pop up, that's where I will post the most! And where all of my nerd comes out, so literally you've been warned. Have fun!
P.S. I will be keeping the original posts on this page, but I won't be adding anymore Potterhead or Game of Thrones things on the main blog page anymore.
Yeah, we're sliding in with some more theories! Bran Stark is up next, but just remember, my current posts I'm putting out there don't cover everything I think about each character. As not to burden the world, I've split the theories up. But I'll definitely talk about the other characters more in depth later.
1. White Walkers
Bran Stark is the key to the White Walkers coming beyond the Wall.
We know that the Wall was built (by Bran the Builder) with a sort of magic that kept the White Walkers out of the North and the rest of the Seven Kingdoms, but in Season 6 episode 5, Bran is touched by the Night King in a vision. When Bran reveals his arm, there is a blue frost mark on it from where he was touched. The three-eyed raven says that because the Night King touched him, the cave they were sheltering in would no longer protect them, for the magic was broken. The same magic, I'm assuming, that is on the Wall protecting everyone.
If Bran crosses the Wall with Meera Reed, then the Night King and the White Walkers can finally cross the line too. This is also evident when Benjen Stark tells Bran that he cannot cross the Wall because the magic does not let those undead cross. As Benjen was attacked by White Walkers and saved by the Children of the Forest, he cannot cross either.
Will we see another "oops" moment from Bran? Or will there be another way the White Walkers will be coming over for the party?
2. Bran's Knowledge on Jon Snow
Is there a chance that Bran will be the one to reveal Jon's lineage to him?
In Season 6 episode 10, Bran and Meera stop at a Weirwood Heart tree before continuing their journey over the Wall. Bran touches the Heart tree and has a cluster of visions before stopping at the Tower of Joy where he sees his young father, Ned Stark, climb the tower reaching his aunt, Lyanna, at the top. Bran seees that she is dying after giving birth. He hears Lyanna plead with Ned:
"His name is [...] If Robert finds out, he'll kill him. You know he will. You have to protect him. Promise me Ned. Promise me."
Bran realizes in this scene that the baby of his aunt Lyanna and Prince Rhaegar Targaryen is his alleged half-brother, Jon Snow. Lyanna pleads with Ned to protect her son because if Robert Baratheon, her original future husband, found out about Jon, he'd kill him. Because Ned's honor was deeply rooted within, he agrees. Thus finally bringing peace and truth to Ned's history of "cheating" on Catelyn and bringing home a bastard son during Robert's Rebellion. When we now know he brings home his nephew.
If Bran gets to Jon before any other theory plays out about Jon finding out, there's a chance that Bran will be the one to reveal Jon's lineage to him.
*It should be noted that it is unknown at this time whether Bran heard Jon's true name being said during the vision when it was muted for the audience.*
In Season 6 episode 5, Bran watches in his vision at Winterfell that a boy named Wylis at the stables has a seizure that Bran unknowingly caused. Wylis was changed into Hodor when the past Hodor heard the future Meera shouting "Hold the Door". Hodor heard the phrase, had a seizure by repeating what he heard in his head and was mentally disabled. This happened as a result of future Bran accidentally warging into his younger self during a vision. Why does the matter, you may be wondering?
Throughout the series, King Aerys II Targaryen, Daenerys' father, was referred to as the "Mad King". We know that he was stabbed in the back by Jaime Lannister during the Sack of King's Landing. However, what we don't know is what made him "mad" in the first place. I'm thinking that Bran easily could've been the reason that Aerys went insane. Jaime Lannister says the Mad King kept screaming what he'd been screaming for hours, "Burn them all." Maybe Bran went back in time with his visions and tried to tell King Aerys II about the Night King's army, maybe by saying he needs to "burn all the wights and the Whtie Walkers" to save Westeros and in turn accidentally changed Aerys the way he changed Hodor.
We've been learning that only fire will destroy a wight and dragonglass or Valryian steel will destroy a White Walker. "Burn them all."
4. Dragon Rider
In Season 1 episode 1, Bran was tragically pushed out of a tower window by Jaime Lannister and thus made him paralyzed/unable to walk ever again. In Season 4, Bran asks the three-eyed raven if he will ever walk again. The raven tells him, "no, but you will fly." My speculation is that the raven mean that Bran will be able to fly with one of Daenerys' dragons. Bran is a very powerful warg. He was able to warg into Hodor and control him, but he was was also able to train to see visions with the raven. Bran easily could be one of the three dragon riders of legend. There's a chance he could warg into one of Daenerys' dragons. Maybe warg into Rhaegal?
There's a lot we can expect from Bran. He wouldn't have lived this long if he wasn't a key element to the story (and one of my favorites). We'll have to see what this little lord will bring to the table.
Hey guys, we're back for another Game of Thrones theories conversation. We've got Arya Stark up on this round. Be ready!
1. What's Arya's plan?
We so wonderfully know that Arya Stark was last seen at the Twins in the Riverlands, slitting the throat of Lord Walder Frey, wouldn't you believe it. Finally! But let's take a detour here. In Season 6, people in the Riverlands were talking about how there was a wolf pack coming through and killing livestock. Now, I'm betting that the wolf pack is something we should know and remember, especially because the leader may be a long lost friend. Arya said goodbye to her direwolf, Nymeria, in Season 1 on the King's Road after she bit Joffrey's arm (thank heavens too, he called Arya a cunt and tried to kill her). However, is there a chance that the wolf pack the town folk were taking about is actually Nymeria and her pack of wolves/direwolves? I think this could be a strong chance.
If Arya does find Nymeria, will she be able to ride her? I'm not thinking outside the box here, guys. There's actually been evidence to allude this theory. In Season 2, episode 5, Arya and Tywin Lannister have a face off at Harrenhal while discussing Robb Stark. She claims that people in the North say, "he rides on the back of a giant direwolf." Now we know that Robb Stark was a fully grown adult when he was 'riding into battle' and his direwolf, Grey Wind was known to be quite lean and the quickest runner in the group (Lady being the smallest, Summer known to be strong, but not large, Shaggydog known to be fearful and raged, and Ghost was the runt). We also know that the rumer is not true from the shots we see of Robb on the horses and running into battle.
HOWEVER, this show is nothing, if not subtle. That line wouldn't be in the series unless it meant something. Arya is the smallest of the Starks, and of course her line in Season 2 to Tywin, "I eat a lot, I just don't grow," but we haven't seen Nymeria since Season 1. There is a huge possibility that from the years we haven't seen our direwolf, she could be huge. That would easily mean that Arya could in fact be able to ride Nymeria into battle. I mean c'mon, we need something cool with the direwolves as we only have two left: Nymeria and Ghost.
I guess we'll have to see what becomes of Arya's journey, but we're going to talk about Arya again later.
Love you nerds,
*THIS SERIES IS ABOUT MY EXCESSIVE NERD PROBLEMS. IF THIS DOES NOT RELATE TO YOU THEN CONTINUE ON!*
The first step is acceptance. I am accepting that I love Animal Crossing.
I actually didn't get into Animal Crossing until I had a DS. The original one. I got Wild World and I was immediately hooked. It's just so fun! Right? I had two characters on there. One of them was named Katie (duh!) while the other one was named Yumi (from Code Lyoko). I always (still do) make up stories while playing the game. For example, Yumi and Katie were sisters and Katie moved out from home first, moving to a town called Home (I didn't know that I was supposed to name my town on the bus). Katie lived there a long time before Yumi decided she wanted to come and stay with her sister. Katie was always the very sweet one to all her neighbors and did anything for them. Yumi; however, was very rough around the edges and didn't take to being bossed around by Nook and the neighbors. She was always pretty rude and she didn't, for the longest time, show her worth to Katie. In fact, she was pretty much a nuisance. Katie would try to pick up the slack on the loan by going out and fishing, catching bugs, selling shells, furniture, fruit, anything she could get her hands on really, and Yumi just used her money on things right away. It was a very bad habit. Finally, Katie got tired of Yumi's crap and told her that if she didn't help with the loans right away, Katie was kicking her out, after all, it was HER house.
After that, Yumi understood that sweet, innocent Katie, wasn't bluffing. So she started to save her money almost immediately as she earned it. She put it in the bank and donated at least 5,000 bells from her earnings that day. Katie and Yumi got along much better after that.
And that's my fun story about the two of them. Isn't that sad? I was addicted to playing Wild World.
When we got the Wii, you better believe it that we got Animal Crossing: City Folk. I wasn't into that one as much. I still played, but I wasn't as involved.
Then I got Animal Crossing: New Leaf and boy did my life change haha. My animal crossing life, that is. I was hooked. I was mayor of my town called Twilight. My character's name was Kairi. Her best friends in the town are Merry and Sydney.
New Leaf was a big source of distressing for me. Especially when I had exams in school. It was nice to just disappear into a stress free world and relax. Plus, there was enough drama in Animal Crossing to fill you in on your own life.
Like the fact that Brewster got his own coffee shop, or that Blathers went to school so he could analyze fossils for you!
Plus, the villagers would sometimes rub each other the wrong way, or even the actual residents! Like the biggest love triangle in Animal Crossing history!
Pelly vs. Pete vs. Phyllis.
Any real Animal Crossing player would know the story between the three of these characters. I made up this graph on Polyvore (my own true love).
I love making these on Polyvore just for warning. So Pelly and Phyllis are sisters if you didn't know. Pelly, the younger one, is in love with Pete, the mailman. Now Pete, is kind of an idiot, and he is in love with Phyllis. Phyllis on the end here, could care less about Pete. She works the night shift in the post office while Pelly works during the day. Phyllis is always really grouchy.
Now, I don't know what team you're on, but I'm on team Pete and Pelly. I want Pete to man up and see that Pelly loves him. Pete just kinda thinks that Pelly is a little kid compared to Phyllis. Pelly is just very sweet though.
Anyways, leave your vote down here to tell me which of the two you ship. I'll catch you later humans!
I'm starting a new thing for myself. It's a new series called "Obsession Intervention". It's for all of those fandoms that I've gotten myself all worked up over. And maybe you will understand what I'm talking about.
This week we're going to talk about Game Of Thrones (my favorite show). I am so absolutely obsessed with this show. I've watched through the entire show only once, but I've watched through season 6 twice. However, I've taken it upon myself to watch it with two different people... from the beginning! One of my friends just started it and he has gotten into the habit of calling me whenever he has questions about the history, lore, characters, battles, anything. That's how addicted I am to Game Of Thrones.
Because I'm a huge nerd, tell me what Great House you would like to be in/which one you align with the most? Every one of my friends know exactly which house I'd be in. It's really not a shock at all.
Other than this survey, I have loads of Game Of Thrones theories. I have a whole wall at work dedicated to my GOT theories. I actually shake with excitement when others want to obsess with me over the show. IT'S AN ACTUAL PROBLEM, HUMANS!
Hands up if you're just as crazy as me! It's totally fine if you are, by the way. Seriously. It's totally fine. (twitch)
If you'd like an in-depth version of my GOT theories, I might make a post. Who am I kidding. I will probably, definitely, make a post about my theories. Due in time. The first step is to ACKNOWLEDGE (JamesTurnerTV reference).
We've acknowledged our problem. The next step is to ACCEPT. Done. Good. Great.
Check back in later for a more in-depth theory post or another OBSESSION INTERVENTION.
Comment down below who your favorite GOT character(s) is/are!
Mine: Bran, Arya, Jon Snow & Sansa
I can't be the only one that has issues staying awake and lively at work.
I know other people have a hard time staying upbeat and ready for the day and on task. I also know those that have no problem doing it. I, however, just can't.
Because I work in a creative environment, I try to fill my space with colors I can stand to look at for long periods of time (and some fun things as well).
To start off, changing your desktop background can make a whole lot of difference.
Here's what my current image is:
It's the Hufflepuff crest with some chevron colored detailing. It makes me really happy to walk into work everyday and see my House. #potterhead nerd.
Inspiration doesn't just have to be fun things, though it helps. I use my bulletin board for mainly work things and it really sets me in the mood.
You're currently look at here is my volunteer applications that I've faxed over (left), my favorite dog breeds underneath it haha, some app/saving money tips I'm working on and in the middle I've got all my Target branded, super cute, dollar section paper. I'm a sucker for those dollar sections at Target. Because I don't have a planner, I use my loose planner sheets to go through my days, while still updating the board. Underneath, you'll see all my little folders. I don't know what I'm going to put in my coral and teal pockets, but in the middle there I have all my notes for everything. And then all my notes on the right hand side are all contacts I'd need for work. Don't worry, nothing encrypting over there, haha.
And if you're anyone like me, you'll notice I have a few... a lot... of jars underneath my board. Yeah. Those are exactly what you might think they are. They're Snapple jars. My coworkers like to make jokes that I'm addicted to Snapple. And they're probably right.
I have had the Snapple Apple, but my favorite flavor is obviously the Peach Tea. It has the caffeine I need in the morning.
Because this board is so colorful, I have no problems keeping updated through all my work. But I do have days where my desk does look like a disaster.
So sure, I've got all of my notes on the desk here, but I also make room for some fun things. I like to optimize the use of the space in my office. To my left from where I sit, I use the wall to put up some of my favorite quotes. I've just used Washi Tape to make it a little more fun.
You can see some of my more prominent quotes here.
And right next to this, there's a sectioned off square bordered with Washi Tape. People have asked me what these post-it notes are and let me just tell you and admit now that I am 100% OBSESSED with Game of Thrones (among other things). And in this square is my dedicated Game of Thrones theories wall. I'm talking any theory I've ever had involving a character for the upcoming season goes into this theory wall. I'll probably do a post each couple weeks or so talking about my theories and my support/claims on it. I just love GOT so much. *SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN SEASON 6 YET*
Some of them probably sound unlikely, but I'm telling you. I think I have some strong claims here. So, whenever I'm at work and I "just can't", I like to look at my wall and come up with other ideas for the finale of this show. Though, in my heart, I never want it to end. I mean, admit it, there's a lot of information that we still don't have. I'd like to get out two more seasons here... at least ;)
So there are some simple tricks I use to keep all my sanity when I sit at a desk for eight hours. I hope I helped some of you out. I would like to know what helps you get through work! Let me know in the comments!
This blog, hopefully, becomes a place where I can just chill out and write when I need to. Because as of right now, I don't really have an active hobby. I have my photography, sure, and I can express myself that way, but lately I've been wondering what I'm going to do with my life when everyone else goes back to school. My brother just moved out last night to head back to Wabash, and I won't be the one going back to school in a couple of days. My neighbors went back to their respectable schools, my friends will be starting classes soon, my best friend (Han) will be starting grad school soon, and my best friends are moving out of the country. One of them, already left, lives in Japan for two years and the other will move to France for about six months. Do you see my problem?
I don't want to sit in my house day after day wondering where all my adventures went. I don't want to be cooped up wondering if this is what adult life feels like. If it means giving up on your dreams and goals, if it means even going to work, coming home, eat, shower, bed. That's so boring. So. So. SO. BORING! Sure, I like to go to the bars and meet new people, but I'm talking about that post-graduate boredom. What DO you do when you've graduated college? Wait for Homecoming? Wait for Bid Day? Sigh.
But I know what you guys may be thinking, Katie, how do you expect to change anything? It's going to be boring, right? It has to be. Adult life sucks. I don't want it to suck though. I don't want to stop smiling or stop writing or laughing or taking pictures, or feeling good about myself. I don't want all the happiness to disappear. I know I'm being dramatic, and I know I have it lucky and blah, blah, blah.
Don't you ever just wonder, if only I had a car, a camera, and a smile. I could go out and see the world and write about it and tell others about it or just keep a little bit for myself. Well, that's what I plan to do. Hopefully. One step at a time. One shot at a time. Quote: "I'm not gonna stop, not gonna stop till I get my shot."
